Title : GANG OF INTERSTATE DACOITS OF ‘MINTA GANG’ BUSTED. 8 ACCUSED INCLUDING GANG LEADER INVOLVED IN MORE THAN 200 CASES OF ROBBERIES AND DACOITIES, ARRESTED.

South District Police has busted an interstate gang of desperate dacoits headed by Ikramul Sheikh @ Minta and arrested eight accused who were involved in several cases of dacoity/robbery in Delhi and NCR. With their arrest, jewellery worth several lacs, one pistol alongwith two live cartridges, three buttons actuated knives, one iron rod used for breaking lockers, five vehicles including one Ford Ikon, one Maruti Zen, one Hyundai Santro, one Maruti 800 C.C. and one Bajaj Discover motorcycle used in commission of crime have been recovered.ACCUSED ARRESTED:

TEAM, INCIDENT & ARREST:In the recent past, several day and night burglaries/robberies were reported in various parts of Delhi and NCR in which robbers entered the house after breaking/cutting the grill and overpowered the inmates by showing deadly weapons and tied their hands and legs with ropes before escaping away with the robbed properties. These incidents were highly publicized by the print and electronic media and due to this there was high pressure on police to nab the criminals involved in these sensational crimes. In order to prevent these incidents and to nab the criminals involved in these cases, several teams were constituted in South District. A team of Special Staff, South District consisting of SIs, Jeet Singh, Sanjeev Kumar, Surinder Dahiya, Balbir Singh ASIs Ashok Kumar, Gyanender, Mahinder (Driver) HCs, Vijay Kumar, Shiv Kumar, Bir Singh, Phool Singh, Shailesh, Satish, Rajesh, Premjeet, Rajinder, Bhoop Singh, Mahender, Sheo Ram, Shyamvir, Ram Kishan, Mahabir Constables Raghubir, Vijay, Vivek, Subash, Shailender, Rajbeer, Consts.(Dvr.) Lakhvinder, Mahesh and Subash (Driver) under the supervision of Inspector Vijay Singh, I/C Special Staff and Shri Bal Krishna Sharma ACP/Operations was also formed.The team so formed worked relentlessly and collected details of several criminals with similar modus- operandi and activated their secret informers to collect the information of the criminals involved in these incidents. These details were analyzed minutely and on the basis of secret information it came to fore that gang headed by Minta, a notorious Bangladeshi robber who managed to escape from the clutches of police of Delhi and neighboring states might be involved in these incidents of burglaries. The hard work of police team bore results and specific information was received on 30.04.2010 that Minta alongwith members of his gang would assemble in the area of Vasant Kunj in order to commit a dacoity in the house of a businessman at Vasant Kunj Farm Houses.The team laid a trap on 30.04.2010 at DDA Jungle, behind petrol pump, Vasant Kunj with secret informer. At around 5.10 PM, six persons came in Maruti Zen Car and Bajaj Discover motorcycle and assembled in DDA park, behind petrol pump in order to plan to commit dacoity in the house of a businessman in Vasant Kunj. One of the persons, identified as Minta by the informer, started briefing to all members of the gang about what they have to do after entering the house of the businessman. All the six persons after sensing the police presence started running from there, but police team acted swiftly and nabbed all of them. One pistol along with two live cartridges, three knives and one iron rod used for breaking the lockers were received from their possession. A case vide FIR No. 123/10 dated 30.04.2010 u/s 399/402 IPC was registered at PS Vasant Kunj South, Delhi and all the above mentioned six accused were arrested. All the accused persons were produced in the Hon’ble Court and ‘Police Custody Remand’ of four accused persons was obtained to arrest their remaining accomplices. During the ‘Police Custody Remand’ accused Surinder Singh @ Goldy @ Goli and Anwar who are active members of Minta Gang were also arrested at the instance of gang leader “Minta” .INTERROGATION & MODUS-OPERANDI:During sustained interrogation, it revealed that Ikram-ul-Haq @ “Minta” is the mastermind of this gang and he along with his accomplices had committed more than 200 robberies in farm houses, residences and bungalows. They adopted unique modus-operandi and committed crime in a corporate manner and every member of the gang was assigned specific task during the commission of crime. They used to enter the farm house and overpower inmates by showing deadly weapons and after keeping them locked in a room, they used to escape away with cash and other valuables. After committing two-three big crime Minta used to go back to Bangladesh with looted jewellery and cash and come back to Delhi after 3-4 months when the police pressure was released. After committing robbery and dacoity, he immediately used to dispose off the stolen gold and silver articles to a goldsmith in Gulawathi, Bulandshahar, UP and send the money to Bangladesh through “Hawala”. Soon after his return to Delhi from Bangladesh, Minta used to purchase new vehicle every time and use it in commission of fresh incident of robbery and dacoity. Members of this gang have committed incidents of robberies in most of the cities of North India. They used to start their journey from Delhi on one highway and commit robbery/dacoity in the city on the way and move ahead. Next time, they used to select another highway and used to commit crime by adopting same modus-operandi.PROFILE:All the members of this gang have previously been arrested several times by the police. They used to manage ‘bail’ and after release from jail on bail, they never attended the Court and as such, all the accused have been declared ‘Proclaimed Offenders’ by various Courts. Ikram-ul-Haq @ Minta was born in 1973 in Bangladesh. He is an illiterate. He came to India illegally with his parents at the age of 10-12 years. He started working as a labour at the shop of scrap dealer. He was arrested for committing theft and he remained in jail for six months. After release from jail, he became more desperate and formed his own gang with Habib, Fazlu and Wakil and started committing robberies and dacoities. In the year 2005, his gang members were arrested by the Delhi Police, but he managed to escape from spot. He is so clever that for the last 8-9 years despite of best efforts of police teams of Delhi and NCR, he always managed to escape from the clutches of police. Members of this gang remained active in whole North India and have committed more than 200 armed robberies and dacoities. Accused Surinder @ Goldy @ Goli is absconding in a murder case vide FIR no. 56/10 dated 12.02.2010 u/s 341/302/34 IPC PS Mangol Puri Delhi. He alongwith his friend Neeraj @ Rinkal murdered one Muzzafar Ali resident of the same locality over a dispute to become the “Dada” of the locality. They planned to murder Muzzafar Ali and on 12.02.2010 they caught hold of Muzzafar Ali and brutally murdered him with “Thapi” (a small bat type object used for washing the clothes) and escaped away. Later on, Neeraj @ Rinkal was arrested by the local police but, Surinder managed to escape. Accused Anwar is also an active member of this gang and is involved in several cases of robbery and dacoity with them. Other members of the gang are also illiterate and residing illegally in India.RECOVERY:

Title : GANG OF BURGLARS BUSTED : 3 ACCUSED ARRESTED AND BURGLARY CASE WORKED OUT WITHIN 24 HOURS

With the arrest of three accused namely Zahid Querashi, Mohd. Nazim and Mohd. Safique, the staff of PS Alipur has busted a gang of notorious burglars who used to commit thefts in godowns in the area of Alipur and part of stolen goods worth Rs 31,000/- and a rickshaw used for transportation of the stolen goods was recovered. INCIDENT: Shri Ashish Gupta s/o Sh. Subash Chand Gupta r/o Khasra No. 48/3-4, Bakhtawarpur Road, Village Palla Mor, Alipur, Delhi had filed a complaint regarding theft of 17 container (15 liters each), 166 containers (15 Kg each) and 10 packs (10 pouches each of 1 liter) of edible Soybean Refined Oil, branded as 'Emami Healthy Soyalite' from the Godown of EMAMI Biotech Pvt. Ltd., situated at Khasra No. 48/3-4, Bakhtawarpur Road, Village Palla Mor, Alipur, Delhi. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 132/10 u/s 380 IPC PS Alipur was registered and investigation taken up. INVESTIGATION AND TEAM : ASI/IO Kaptan Singh received a secret information that some men with stolen goods would pass through Twenty Killa at G.T. Road in order to dispose off the stolen goods in the evening. ASI Kaptan Singh along with Ct. Sandeep laid a trap at Twenty Killa, G.T. Road and nearby picket staff was also alerted. At about 6 PM, as soon as accused persons reached near Twenty Killa, G.T. Road along with stolen goods duly loaded in a rickshaw were apprehended. All three accused were arrested but one of the accused persons escaped on seeing the police as he was far ahead from these three accused who were carrying the stolen goods. Part of stolen property was recovered from their possession. ACCUSED ARRESTED: 1. Zahid Querashi (19 years) s/o Bandhu Querashi r/o Gali No. 4, DCM Colony, Natthupura, Delhi and permanent r/o Village Sikandra Rau PS Kotwali, Mohalla Naurangabad, District Hathras, U.P. 2. Mohd. Nazim (19 years) s/o Naimuddin r/o Gali No. 4, DCM Colony, Natthupura, Delhi and permanent r/o Village Sikandra Rau PS Kotwali, Mohalla, MI Collage, Purani Tahsil Damdama, Distt. Hathras, U.P. 3. Mohd. Safique @ Pappu (20 years) s/o Munne Khan r/o Gali No. 4, DCM Colony, Natthupura, Delhi and permanent r/o Village Rampura Chaudhari, PS Ijjat Nagar, Tahsil Mirganj, Distt. Kasganj, U.P. INTERROGATION : During the course of interrogation, accused disclosed the name of fourth accused who managed to escape from the spot as Mohd. Arif, who was the mastermind of the burglary. They further disclosed that they were going to dispose off the stolen property to Arif in Burari, Delhi. The accused Zahid Querashi is being taken on PC remand to recover the remaining stolen property and efforts are being made to arrest the accused Mohd. Arif, who had absconded. MODUS OPERANDI : Accused persons used to commit burglary during the night by making a hole in the wall of the godown and after stealing the goods from godown, they used to repair the hole so that nobody can know about the burglary. The goods stolen at night were hidden in nearby isolated area and taken out in the evening of next day close to dusk. Since the godown was big and usually full of goods, the fresh repair of bricks went unnoticed and the accused planned to slowly steal goods through this opening. CASE WORKED OUT: 1. FIR No. 132/10 U/S 457/380/411/34/IPC PS Alipur, Delhi. RECOVRED MADE : 1. 26 Containers (15 Kg. each) of Refined Soybean Oil. 2. 4 Packs (10 pouches each) of 1 liters Refined Oil.
