With the arrest of Manita w/o Rajeev @ Raju r/o Jhuggi F-18, S.S Nagar, WPIA, Ashok Vihar, Delhi and her brother Ranbir S/o Moti Lal R/o Jhuggi F-18, S.S Nagar, WPIA, Ashok Vihar, Delhi, the staff of PS Ashok Vihar has solved a case of house theft committed by the maid servant.
INCIDENT
On 31.03.13, Ms. Rajni Mittal reported that she had employed one Manita as a maid in her house in Phase-I, Ashok Vihar, Delhi for the last 2 months who was working sincerely and had gained her faith. This maid was aware about keys of her almira. On 30.03.2013, when she needed some of her jewelery, it was found that three gold necklace sets, two gold bangles, two pairs ear tops, one gold chain, one diamond ring and one gold ring were missing from her almira. She had strong suspicion at her maid. Accordingly, a criminal case FIR No.94/13 u/s 381 IPC was registered at PS Ashok Vihar Delhi and investigation was carried out.
TEAM
Keeping in view the amount of jewelery, a team consisting of the following officers was constituted to solve the case under the close supervision of Inspr. Ram Singh, SHO/Ashok Vihar:

INVESTIGATION
On 31.03.2013, maid Manita was interrogated in this case, but she flatly refused her involvement in the said crime and was not co-operative. SI Ved Parkash and HC Yogesh No. 578/NW activated their sources to gather information about her from the locality. One such source gave leads hinting at her involvement in the crime. The activities/movements of the maid were kept under watch. In the evening of 1.4.2013 when Manita was ready to leave Delhi for her native place in Bihar, she was intercepted with some stolen jewelery. After sustained interrogation, she confessed the crime and disclosed that a part of the stolen jewelery was taken by her brother Ranbir who was also arrested after due interrogation. At their instance, the following items were recovered:
RECOVERY
1. Three gold necklace sets (one with ear tops)
2. Two heavy gold rings
3. One Gold chain
4. Two pairs diamond ear tops
5. One diamond ring
6. One Gold rings
MODUS OPERANDI
Manita worked sincerely in the house of her employer and gained her faith. The complainant did not suspect her intentions and was not very particular about locking of almirah and safe keeping of keys. The accused taking advantage of this started stealing gold items from the almirah for the last 10-15 days in parts so that immediate detection could be avoided.
PROFILE
1. Accused Mamta, Age 22 years is a poor and illiterate lady. She came to Delhi in 2005 after her marriage and started living in the area of WPIA on rent basis and worked as a maid in residential area of Ashok Vihar. She has two children. She has been living separately from her husband.
2. Accused Ranbir, age 33 years has studied up to 6th standard. He came to Delhi in 2005 and started to live with her sister, initially. He works as a small vendor in WPIA and has no regular source of income.

TWO ROBBERS ARRESTED
INCIDENT
On 29-03-13, complainant Jai Prakash resident of Gopal Park, Azad Park, Delhi reported that at about 08.15 PM, when he was coming on foot from his office at Subzi Mandi and reached Anaar Gate, Fruit Mandi near Railway Line under pass, two boys came from behind and over powered him and cut him with blade at his face and robbed one LG Mobile and Rs 10500/- cash from him. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No 79/13 U/S 392/394/34-IPC PS Mahendera Park was registered.
INVESTIGATION
A secret information was received by HC Narender Chhikara No 899/NW of PS Jahangir Puri that two boys who has committed robbery at Mahendera Park area are standing at Shah Alam Band. This information was shared with Inspr. Yashpal Singh, SHO/Jahangir Puri. Then HC Narender Chhikara No 899/NW along with Const. Jitender Kumar No 2391/NW and Const Udai Veer No 1490/NW reached at Shah Alam Bandh near Adarsh Nagar Crossing Jahangir Puri, Delhi. On the signal of secret informer, two accused persons were apprehended. They came out to be Shekhar s/o Mohd. Aziz r/o H No T-2, DDA Market, near Mangal Bazar Chowk, Jahangir Puri, Delhi aged about 22 years and Rohit s/o Mohit Vishwas r/o H-3/1291, Jahangir Puri Delhi aged about 19 years.
INTERROGATION
During interrogation, it revealed that they had committed the robbery on 29/03/2013. Accordingly, PS Mahendra Park was informed. During interrogation and personnel search, the robbed mobile phone LG, C-105, and cash Rs 1000/- were recovered from Shekhar and Rs 4000/- cash were recovered from the possession of accused Rohit. Accused Shekhar has also been involved in case FIR No. 112/10 u/s 25/54/59 Arms Act PS Adarsh Nagar, Delhi.

GANG OF LAPTOP THIEVES BUSTED
Three thieves arrested by the staff of P.S. Subhash Place namely Krishan S/o Sh. Sunil R/o A-608, Mangolpuri, Delhi, Vikash @ Laxman S/o Sh. Ram Dhani R/o E-132 Jhuggi, Patharwala Bagh, J. J. Colony Wazirpur, Delhi and Mohd. Ijaj S/o Mohd. Ijhar R/o Rampura, P.S. Keshav Puram Delhi and recovered two laptops.
INCIDENT
On 3.4.13, one Akhilesh Sharma reported at Police Station Subhash Place regarding theft of his Laptop. In his statement, he alleged that at about 9.45 AM when he boarded a bus from Britannia Chowk to NSP Complex, he sensed that someone has opened his Laptop Bag Zip when the bus stops near Wazirpur Depot Bus Stop, on which he watched in the bus and noticed a person giving his laptop to another one. On seeing this, he raised alarm and both the persons de-boarded the bus & ran away. In the meantime, the doors of the bus got closed and the bus stopped a little far from the bus stop. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 134/13 U/s 379/34 IPC PS Subhash Place was registered and investigation was taken up.
INVESTIGATION & INTERROGATION
During the course of Investigation, search of the accused was made but no clue found. Looking at the gravity of the case & increasing incident of Laptops theft in the jurisdiction of Police Station, a team consisting of SI Vikas, ASI Sushil Kumar, HC Suresh, Ct. Sher Singh, Ct. Sunit was constituted under the leadership of Inspr. Pankaj Malik, SHO/Subhash Place and overall supervision of Sh. Ashish Anan, ACP/Saraswati Vihar to catch the offenders.
Informers were activated and a secret information was received that one person who belongs to the gang of laptop thieves is coming to Mongolpuri L-Block on a Yamaha Fazer m/cycle with a laptop for giving it to their gang member Yameen (Receiver). On this information, raid was conducted and on the pointing of the informer, a person namely Krishan S/o Sh. Sunil R/o A-608, Mangolpuri, Delhi was apprehended by the team and one laptop was recovered from his possession. During interrogation, the recovered laptop was found stolen in case FIR No. 134/13 PS Subhash Place. Accordingly, the accused was duly arrested and he disclosed during interrogation that he works with this gang & can get arrest other members of the gang. He further disclosed that two of the gang members are in the Jhuggis of Wazirpur JJ colony. On this raid was conducted and two members of the gang got arrested from whom one laptop & two mobile phones were recovered. All the accused persons disclosed that they stole laptops from buses and gave them to their associate who used to ride on a M/cycle behind the bus. The co-associate, who rides the m/cycle behind the bus, took the Laptops from them & gave it to their associate namely Yameen resident of Mangolpuri. Yameen, receiver of the stolen property is still at large and search of Yameen is going on.
