AND HAS ALSO BEEN DECLARED PROCLAIMED OFFENDER IN A DACOITY CASE OF PS WELCOME. A team of officers of the Crime Branch led by Insp. K.P. Singh consisting of SI P.C. Yadav, HC Yatender, HC Rajiv Mohan, Ct Vikal Singh, Ct Yogender, Ct Javed, Ct Ravinder, Ct Bijender, Ct Manoj, Ct Devinder and Ct Naresh under the supervision of Sh. S. S. Gill, ACP/Anti Robbery Cell and over all guidance of Sh. Bhisham Singh, Addl. DCP/Crime has apprehended accused Iqbal @ Guddu (age 42 years) and worked out two sensational cases viz. a robbery at NOIDA Expressway of Rs 1.15 crore at gun point and snatching of a bag from a South African Lady in the area of PS Barakhamba Road. Rs. 10 lac cash of the NOIDA Expressway robbery case and mobile phone snatched from the South African Lady have been recovered. Ct. Vikal Singh of Anti Robbery Cell, Crime Branch received an information that one notorious robber of Mehboob Pandey gang namely Iqbal @ Guddu, involved in a recent sensational robbery case of robbery at NOIDA Expressway would be coming near Bhairon Temple opposite Pragati Maidan on 19.03.13 at about 01:30 PM to meet his associates. The accused Iqbal had come near Bheiron Mandir to visit his associates but was apprehended alongwith a pistol and two live cartridges. A case FIR No. 51/13 U/S 25 Arms Act has been registered at PS Crime Branch. Efforts are being made to arrest the remaining accused persons. All concerned police stations have been informed. PROFILE OF THE ACCUSED: Accused Iqbal @ Guddu is a desperate robber. He was born in a small village namely Sarsaul of Distt. Buland Shahar in UP. He came to Delhi in the year 1998-99, and started plying a taxi. He came in contact with Meharban Pehalwan of Buland Shahar, Farookh Pehalwan of Khurja and Furkan of Aligarh, all notorious criminals of Delhi NCR. Soon he also fell prey to easy money and he committed dacoities in the year 2001 in Bulland Shahar, Welcome, Delhi and another one in Agra. After coming out of jail in the year 2003, he along with one Ajay @ Pradhan r/o Salem Pur, UP, started steeling vehicles. He was again arrested in the year 2004 and after coming out of jail he came in contact with one Mehboob Pandey r/o Khurja, Hashmat r/o Buland Shahar, Ravi r/o Agra, Rajkumar @ Raju r/o Sikandarabad. They committed dacoities/robberies at Anoop Shahar, Buland Shahar and Vijay Nagar, Ghaziabad. In the year 2006, he along with his associates namely Mehboob Pandey r/o Khurja and Rajkumar @ Raju r/o Sikandarabad was arrested after a brief encounter with Crime Branch of Delhi Police. In the year 2009, he came out of jail and committed robberies and carjacking in Buland Shahar and NOIDA. In 2010, he and his associate Hashmat opened fire on Bulandshahar Police when accosted. His associate Hashmat was arrested by Buland Shahar Police after a brief encounter but Iqbal managed to escape. After this he was again arrested by Crime Branch of Delhi Police. After coming out of jail, he with the help of his associates began to target the jewellers travelling with huge cash or jewellery. His associate Ravi r/o Agra used to provide information about the jewellers travelling from Agra. In Oct., 2010 he alongwith his associates namely Hashmat, Ravi, Brijesh, Rahis and Bhura targeted one Sarvesh Kumar Agrawal, a jeweler of Bareilly, and robbed Approx. 150 Kg. Silver and cash Rs. 50,000/- at gun point near Tundala, Distt Firozabad, UP. A case vide FIR No. 404/10 u/s 392/34 IPC was registered at PS- Naarki, Distt Firozabad, UP and none was arrested in the case so far. In the month of Oct. 2011, he and his associates namely Hashmat, Ravi, Brijesh, Azad and Imran targeted another jeweller Pradeep Kumar r/o Mathura and robbed 10 Kg. silver and Rs. 9 lac cash vide FIR No. 729/ 11 u/s 395/34 IPC registered at PS-Kotwali Buland Shahar Dehat. All other accused except accused Iqbal @ Guddu have been arrested in this case. In the month of March 2012, he along with his associate Raj Kumar @ Raju snatched a bag from one South African lady containing, approx. 1000 Dollars, her passport and a Mobile Phone near Gole Market, New Delhi . A case vide FIR No.39/12 u/s 379/356 IPC was registered at PS- Barakhamba Road in this regard. The mobile phone Black Berry has been recovered at the instance of accused. One Firoz r/o Mustafabad, whose father-in- law, namely Ibrahim was employed as a driver at one jewellery shop at Bareilly namely ˇ§Shailesh Tradersˇ¨,. wanted to earn easy money so he planned to rob the jeweler with the help of his associates. As his father-in-law was employed as a driver to the jeweler, it was easy for him to track the movements of his father-in-law, with out the knowledge of his father in law. He was aware that as a driver, his father in law working as a driver carried huge cash and jewellery to Delhi and Agra. He joined Rahis, Ajay and Md. Azad all r/o Mustafabad, Delhi in the plan to loot the jeweller. Rahis and Azad contacted Iqbal @ Guddu for robbing the jeweller. Firoz informed that the jeweler transfers huge cash/jewellery to Agra and Delhi. Accused Iqbal @ Guddu joined his associate Ravi r/o Agra, Rajkumar @ Raju and Sandip in his plan. As per plan, he decided to send Firoz and Ajay to Bareilly to the house of his father-in-law so as he could provide information regarding the transfer of cash or jewellery by Shailesh Traders through his father in law as the driver. Rahis also reached Bareilly and Azad stayed in Delhi. For this purpose, Azad procured three mobile phones and three SIM cards on fake identities. One phone was given to Rahis who reached Bareilly, one phone was taken by the accused Iqbal @ Guddu to Agra and one mobile phone remained with Azad in Delhi. Accused Rahis was to pass information to Azad and Iqbal @ Guddu through Firoz. Accused Iqbal @ Guddu asked Raj Kumar @ Raju and Sandip to remain in ready position at Greater NOIDA. On 10/03/13, accused Iqbal @ Guddu reached Agra and met with Ravi and discussed the issue with him and joined him. On early morning of 12/03/13, accused received information from Rahis and Azad that two vehicles, one Swift Dzire and one Ritz car with registration numbers, of the Shailesh Jewellers have moved to Agra. The Dzire car was being driven by Ibrahim and Mohan Bhatt the accountant of Shailesh Jewellers was accompanying him. Accused Ravi kept a watch at all possible places in Agra. He spotted both the cars at Surya Nagar, Agra as he knew these places. Meanwhile Iqbal @ Guddu asked Rajkumar @ Raju and Sandip to reach Agra in a car. Rahis informed that one of the cars i.e. Swift Dzire driven by the father in law of Firoz will go to Delhi and the same is carrying huge cash. As soon as Rajkumar @ Raju and Sandip reached Agra in a Santro car, they all boarded the same and began to wait for the time when the car would move to Delhi. As soon as the car moved to Delhi, they chased the Swift Dzire car and accosted that Swift Dzire Car between HCL and Mahamaya Nagar fly over, at NOIDA Express Way, posing to be cops. The driver of the car stopped the car. Two accused persons namely Raj Kumar @ Raju and Sandip boarded the car of the jeweler and made both the driver and the accountant hostage at gun point. They drove the car to Hinnoti Village via Yamuna Expressway. Accused Iqbal @ Guddu and Ravi also reached Hinnoti village via Bhangel Village after some time as they spent some time in changing the number plate. During interrogation, accused Iqbal disclosed that they robbed Rs 70 lacs only. But the FIR indicates the robbery of Rs 1.15 Crore. So the complainant was contacted to know the exact amount robbed. The hostage accountant of the jeweller disclosed that after reaching the Hinnoti village one of the accused persons took away Rs 45 lacs and went in to Hinnoti village. Both of them asked the accountant to tell his remaining two associates that he was carrying cash Rs 70 lacs only. After some time, accused Iqbal @ Guddu and Ravi also reached Hinnoti village. Sandip told them that Rajkumar @ Raju had gone to get a bag to keep cash from the village. After sometime, Rajkumar @ Raju came back with a gunny bag and they transferred the remaining cash in the gunny bag. After this, they dumped both the driver and the accountant near the Khedi village. They transferred the gunny bag to their Santro car and abandoned the Dzire car near Dadri Railway Crossing. A case vide FIR No. 171/13 dated 13/03/13 u/s 392/34 IPC has been registered at PS Sec-39 NOIDA, UP in this regard. Interrogation of accused has revealed that he never attended the court in case FIR No. 46/01 u/s 395/ 34 IPC of PS-Welcome after coming out of jail on bail . Title : „« THAK-THAK GANG OPERATING IN CONNAUGHT PLACE AND SURROUNDING AREAS BUSTED.

A gang of bag lifters better known as ˇĄThak-Thakˇ¦ gang has been busted by the local police of Police Station Connaught Place after persistent efforts and strategic trapping. Taking a serious view of the increase in number of bag lifting cases in and around New Delhi District the local police of PS Connaught Place deployed large number of police men in plain clothes in the parking lots and at crowded places. There were several incidents of bag lifting from cars using similar modus operandi of distracting the attention of the car drivers by throwing currency notes near the car, or by throwing oil on the bonnet of the car in Connaught Place, Mandir Marg, Barakhamba Road and Paharganj areas. The cases of bag lifting were analyzed and it was observed that the gang from Trichy, Tamilnadu was behind all these incidents. The gang targets the cars parked nears restaurants and eating places. At one time 3-4 of the gang members operate together. As a part of modus operandi one of them throws currency notes, the other one diverts the attention of the car driver by tapping the car and indicating the fallen currency notes, the other one engages himself in lifting the bag the moment driver opens central locking of the car for picking the notes. Various methods are used by the gang members to make the driver come out of the car such as throwing currency notes near the driverˇ¦s side of the car, throwing oil on the bonnet of the car or by creating a fake accident scene with the car. Photographs, features and modus operandi of the gang was studied thoroughly and four teams of dedicated police personnel were deployed in different parking lots and crowded areas under the supervision of SHO/Connaught Place Sh. Sukhdev Mann. After persistent and rigorous efforts of several days, one of the police teams of PS Conn. Place apprehended one Mari Muthu K red handed while he was fleeing away after lifting a bag from car No. DL 7C E 7684 from ˇĄGˇ¦ Block parking. A case vide FIR No. 33/13, dt. 11.03.13 U/S 379/411/34 IPC, PS Con. Place was registered. The accused Mari Muthu was remanded to police custody. At his instance the other gang members namely Krishnan and Subaramaniyam were arrested. One camera, two mobile phones, briefcases, clothings, pen drives and cash have been recovered at their instance. As many as seven cases of bag lifting have been worked out on the disclosure of the said accused persons. Other absconding accused persons have been identified on the basis of CCTV footage and all out efforts are being made to arrest them. Identities of accused persons are as below:- „« Mari Muttu S/o Kathiravelu R/o Milli Colony, Raja Nagar, Srirengam, Tirchy, Tamil Nadu, Age- 31 years, Education- 6th class, Proclaimed offender in two cases - a hardened thief. „« Krishnan S/o Sunmohan R/o New Katur, Ramji Nagar, Tirchy, Tamil Nadu, Age- 28 years, Education- 4th class, Proclaimed offender in one case ˇV a hardened thief. „« Subaramaniyam S/o Nagppan R/o New Katur, Ramji Nagar, Tirchy, Tamil Nadu, Age- 31 years, Education- 7th class, Proclaimed offender in one case ˇV a habitual criminal. Further criminal involvements of all the three thieves are being verified.

DESPERATE CRIMINALS / AUTO-LIFTERS/ BURGLARSAPPREHENDED. „«8 CASES OF BURGLARY AND M.V.THEFT WORKED OUT „«STOLEN CAR, 5 MOTOR-CYCLES, LAPTOP AND BUNDLE OF FABRIC RECOVERED With the arrest of two desperate criminals involved in several auto lifting cases and burglary, the Police staff of P.S. Kapashera, South West District Police has busted a gang of auto lifters cum burglars and recovered total 6 vehicles including 5 stolen motorcycles and 1 stolen Santro car, one Laptop and four bundles of fabric thereby working out eight cases of vehicle theft and burglary. TEAM OPERATION AND ARREST Keeping in view the recent incidents of vehicle thefts in the area of PS Kapashera, the entire beat patrols were sensitized and put on high alert for preventing and detecting the same. Night Patrolling was intensified and a special team was formed under the supervision and leadership of Inspr Mukesh Walia, SHO Kapashera consisting of SI Jasbir Singh, HC Puran No 91/SW, Ct. Sarwan No. 2400/SW, Ct. Ravinder No. 1937/SW and Ct Jagdish No 773/SW under the close monitoring of Sh Samay Singh, ACP/Dwarka. The crime affected and crime prone areas and the entry/exit routes were identified after thorough study of the crime reported at the PS Local intelligence network was also activated. Finally, the team gathered a tip-off that two suspicious youths were looking for arranging duplicate keys of motorcycle. On the receipt of the tip off, on the intervening night of 15/16.3.2013, the particular area i.e. near Delhi-Gurgaon border was adequately manned and massive manhunt was launched. During the search operation, the team succeeded in apprehending the two youths with a motorcycle in their possession. They were flagged down by the police picket staff at the Delhi-Gurgaon border picket (Delhi side). On seeing the police checking, first the duo tried to dodge the police by slowing down their motorcycle and then suddenly accelerated their speed. But the police teams were already alert enough and immediately overpowered the duo and apprehended them. During interrogation, the apprehended duo did not take much time in admitting the theft of the motorcycle in their possession which was found reported stolen vide case FIR No. 48/13 at PS Kapashera. Both of them were immediately arrested.   PROFILE OF THE ACCUSED 1. Adesh Kumar S/o Ram Avtar R/o Village- Neemghar, P.O. Malhosi, P.S. Beta, Tehsil- Vidhuna, Distt. Auraiya (UP) Age 22 Years. 2. Shailender Kumar @ Vinay S/o Raghuvir Singh R/o Village-Gafathiya, The. Bhartana, Distt.- Etawa (UP) Age 34 Years. Accused Shailender Kumar @ Vinay and his wife both are graduates from Kanpur University and belong to a decent middle class family. But they could not get any job and now accused Shailnder Kumar @ Viney want to get his child admitted in public school. Therefore, he resorted to vehicle thefts and burgling the shops/houses to make money quickly. Accused Adesh Kumar is a class VIII dropout and belongs to a very poor family. RECOVERY AND CASES SOLVED During prolonged interrogation and systematic investigation, team recovered total 6 vehicles including 5 stolen motorcycle and 1 stolen Santro car, one Laptop and four bundles of fabric which worked out eight cases of vehicle theft and burglary. MODUS OPERANDI Initially, these two accused used to identify the places which are crowded and close to borders of the states so that they can easily get it crossed from border of Delhi or Haryana and can disposed off. Thereafter, they used to identify the persons who used to park their vehicles in front of their residences for whole night. Thereafter two of them used to steal the vehicles. Further investigation is in progress.
