NORTH-WEST DISTT. Dated: 7.5.13 PRESS RELEASE PROCLAIMED OFFENDERS ARRESTED In the first instance the Spl. Team of P.S Bharat Nagar arrested one proclaimed offender namely Vinod s/o Sarjeety r/o A-3/10, Lal Quarter Ph-2, Sec-4, Vijay Vihar, Delhi. He was declared P.O on 1.12.12 by the Hon'ble Court of Sh.Dharmender Singh, M.M Rohini Courts in case FIR No.398/05 u/s 279/338/304A IPC. P.S. South Rohini, Delhi. ASI Naresh Rana received a secret information about the presence of proclaimed offender Vinod in the area of Vijay Vihar, Delhi. He laid a trap and apprehended him near the Mosque of Lal Qtr., Vijay Vihar, Sec-04, Delhi. In the second instance the Spl. Team of P.S Mahendra Park arrested one proclaimed offender namely Khemchand @ Khema s/o Dhani Ram r/o Gali No.6, Samta Vihar, M.Pur, Delhi. He was declared P.O on 4.12.12 by the Hon'ble Court of Sh. Sunil Kumar, M.M Rohini Courts in case FIR No. 93/07 u/s 324 IPC. P.S. Swaroop Nagar, Delhi. HC Anil and HC Jitender received a secret information about the presence of proclaimed offender Khemchand @ Khema in the area of Jahangir Puri, Delhi. Title : ROBBERY CASE WORKED OUT

PRESS RELEASE ROBBERY CASE WORKED OUT Adarsh Nagar police has apprehended one person namely Deepak @ Bunty wanted in a robbery case of P.S. Adarsh Nagar in which one person was arrested earlier with part of looted property. A knife and some part of looted property has been recovered from his possession. INCIDENT On 18.04.13, one Sh.Ashok Kumar resident of Jahangirpuri, Delhi reported that he alone with his grandson Sunesh was going from Jahangirpuri to Kingsway Camp in a bus of Route No. 120. When the bus reached at Panchwati, Adarsh Nagar stand, two boys stood in front of him and one opened a knife and touched it with the stomach of the complainant and robbed him of Rs 12,600/- whereas, one accused namely Kamal was caught red handed by his grandson and others fled away with the money. On the basis of his statement, a case vide FIR No. 201/2012 dated 18.08.2012 U/S 392/34 IPC PS Adarsh Nagar, Delhi was registered. During investigation, ASI Jolen Dahanga 3029/NW, HC Ved 144/NW, Ct. Rahul 1395/NW and Ct. Jai Bhagwan 1436/NW made sincere efforts to apprehend the accused persons in this case. INVESTIGATION On the basis of a secret information, the police team apprehended the accused Deepak @ Bunty S/o Jitan Dev R/o Jhuggi No. 872, H 41 Labour Colony, Sultanpuri, Delhi aged 26 years from Sultanpuri area on 04.05.2013. On interrogation, he disclosed that he along with his associates namely Kamal committed the robbery on 18.04.13. PROFILE Deepak @ Dev S/o Jitan Dev R/o Jhuggi No. 872, H 41 Labour Colony Sultan Puri Delhi is 26 years. He studied upto 9th class and working as a labour in a factory of Shoes. Dated : 06.05.13 „« GROUP OF BAG LIFTERS, POPULARLY KNOWN AS ¡¥¡¦TYRE PUNCTURE-THAK THAK GANG ¡¦¡¦ BUSTED. „« 2 JUVENILES APPREHENDED. „« STOLEN CASH RS. 50 LACS RECOVERED. Special Staff, South District have apprehended two juveniles who are members of ¡¥Tyre Puncture-Thak Thak Gang¡¦ and involved in bag lifting from the vehicles. With their apprehension, stolen cash Rs. 50 lacs, which they had stolen from the vehicle of a businessman in Modi Nagar, UP have been recovered. BRIEF FACTS : On 03-05-13, the complainant Sh. Mridul Jain R/o 194/195, Tilak Park, Sadar, Meerut, UP, a businessman in Chandni Chowk, Delhi was coming from Meerut to Delhi by car along with his driver. When he reached near Sugar Mill, Modi Nagar, Ghaziabad, one passerby informed driver that rear tyre of the car had been punctured. The driver stopped the car and engaged in changing the tyre. In the meantime, a 14-15 years old boy came and informed him that there had been leakage of oil from the engine of the car. Both driver and Sh. Mridul Jain engaged in checking the engine of car to find out the leakage of oil. Meanwhile, some unknown person(s) had stolen the bag containing cash Rs. 60 lacs from the rear seat of the car and escaped from the spot. Sh. Mridul Jain reported the matter to PS Modi Nagar, Ghaziabad and accordingly a case vide FIR No. 218/13 Dated 3/5/2013 U/s 379 IPC was registered. In the recent past also, several incidents of bag lifting from the cars by adopting same modus operandi were reported in various parts of Delhi and NCR. In order to prevent these incidents and to nab the criminals involved in such activities, a team of Special Staff, South District consisting of SI Jeet Singh, ASI Ram Kishan, Mahender, HCs Premjeet Singh, Beer Singh, Hawa Singh, Vijay Kumar and Yogesh under the leadership of Inspector/Special Staff Jasmohinder Chaudahri and overall supervision of Sh. Kulwant Singh, ACP/Operations, South District were formed. The team worked relentlessly and collected details of several criminals with similar modus-operandi and activated their sources. During this process, it came to fore that a bag lifting group of juveniles known as ¡§Tyre Puncture Group¡¨ of Madangir, Delhi might be involved in these incidents. The hard work of team bore results and specific information was received on 05/05/13 that members of this juvenile group would come at near JPNA Trauma Centre, Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi to proceed further. The team members laid a trap and apprehended two juveniles. Their search and version led to recovery of stolen cash Rs. 50 lacs. ENQUIRY: During enquiry from juveniles, it was revealed that recovered cash was stolen from the area of PS Modi Nagar, Ghaziabad, UP on 3.5.13. In this regard, a case vide FIR No. 218/13 dated 3/5/2013 u/s 379 IPC was found to be registered. Subsequently, both the juveniles were apprehended by the Juvenile Welfare Officer, PS Safdarjung Enclave u/s 41.1 (d)/102 Cr.PC dated 05-05-13. As per the version of juveniles, one (Major) Nagia r/o Pul Pehaldpur, Delhi was also involved in the crime. Further investigation is on to trace his whereabouts and to arrest him. MODUS OPERANDI: As per version of juveniles, they were operating in Delhi and NCR. The modus operandi of the group is that initially, they used to identify the vehicle in which bag etc. is kept on the side seat of the driver or on the rear seat and driver is alone. Then, they would puncture the tyre of the targeted vehicle with a sharp edge instrument or by throwing the sharp edge instruments of iron on the road when the driver stops his vehicle at the red light. Then, they would follow the targeted vehicle and would inform the driver that the tyre of his vehicle is punctured. One of the members of their group used to steal the bag containing cash and other valuables from the vehicle while other members would divert the attention of driver or on the pretext of extending help to the driver or by some other means like by throwing oil or currency notes under the vehicle, while he remains busy in replacing the tyre. Thereafter, the member will immediately pass the stolen bag to the other members of their group, who stands nearby. This group has its network throughout Delhi and NCR and has been involved in many cases of bag-lifting/theft. Further investigation of the case is in progress and efforts are being made to affect more recoveries and to link their other associates as well as to probe into their previous involvements.
