Title : | AN INTER STATE AUTO LIFTER GANG BUSTED : TWO PERSONS ARRESTED: 03 VEHICLES RECOVERED |
INTRODUCTION:
With the arrest of two persons namely i) Sanjeev Wadhvan @ Sahil S/o Suresh Wadhvan R/o Shakti Khand, Indira Puram, Gaziabad, U.P. and ii) Ramu Kant S/o Ram Doss Kant R/o Mohalla Katira, Village Arra , P.S. Nawada,Distt. Bhoj Pur, Bihar, the South District police has solved 15 cases of auto thefts and recovered 03 stolen vehicles including one Esteem , one Santro and one Wagon-R cars.
INCIDENT:
Following the analysis of auto thefts committed in the area of South Delhi , it was learnt that a gang of Sanjeev was desperately active in the areas of police station Malviya Nagar and Lajpat Nagar. Further study revealed that all types of vehicles were being targeted by this gang and many Santro, Wagon-R and Alto cars were reported to be stolen from the area of Malviya Nagar and Lajpat Nagar. It was further learnt that all these vehicles were being transported to North East India at Guwahati and Imphal. In order to bust the gang involved and to prevent the further crime, the team of Anti Auto Theft Squad was asked to put in their best efforts.
TEAM & INVESTIGATION:
The team of Anti Auto Theft Squad (AATS) consisting of SI Jeet Singh, HCs Washiq Ahmed,Abdul Hakim,Vinod Kumar,Consts. Abdul Rehman,Rattan Lal, Brah, Shailender and Tulsi under the leadership of Inspr. Naresh Kumar I/c AATS under the supervision of Sh. Ramesh Chander Saini, ACP/Ops geared up its resources and developed intelligence. Their team laid traps in few affected areas and also started checking of suspected vehicles and persons at various pickets. On 24-08-07 in one of such checking, two persons occupying an Wagon-R car with fake number plate UP 81 -V 6600 were stopped and checked near RPS, M.B. Road , Ambedkar Nagar area at about 6.40PM. On the personal search of one accused person later identified as Sanjeev Wadhvan @ Sahil, 500 gms. narcotic substance (charas) was recovered. Further enquiry regarding the vehicle revealed that the said Wagon-R car was found to be stolen from Malviya Nagar area. They both were accordingly arrested under NDPS Act and for the possession of stolen property.
INTERROGATION:
On sustained interrogation it was disclosed by Sanjeev that he had been involved in many cases of auto thefts and spent some time in jail. He was released from jail three years ago and again indulged in auto thefts along with his associate Gaj Raj. He further disclosed that he used to steal all vehicles with the help of drill machine and self made old keys. He used to steal all types of vehicles starting from motorcycles to luxury cars. He had got a good chain of disposal of all these vehicles in Bihar and North Eastern States . He had stolen Esteems, Wagon-R, Santro,and Alto cars and Scorpio etc. from the area of posh localities of Lajpat Nagar, Malviya Nagar, Agra , Mathura and Faridabad . All these vehicles were taken to two notorious receivers of stolen properties in Arra, Bihar namely Anil Kumar Singh and Bikhari. Anil Kumar Singh is a notorious drug peddler of that area in Bihar . Both these receivers had received more then 50 vehicles from Sanjeev @ Sahil over a period of three years. Ramu Kant was working as a carrier of Anil Kumar Singh and the accused Sanjeev @ Sahil had given the possession of the vehicle to him and was moving for further disposal of the vehicle, in the mean time he was apprehended. They were taken on Police remand and police team also recovered two more vehicles and equipments used in stealing the cars.
MODUS OPERANDI:
Sanjeev @ Sahil and Gaj Raj are committing the thefts together. They were having a battery operated drill machine and other equipments including torch, plastic hammer, spanners, plass , cutter, screw driver, knife, cello tape, pencil cells, steering rod clip and thin iron scale for opening the vehicle and to unlock their steering. Sanjeev has responsibility to dispose of the stolen vehicle as he was having links with Bihar and North Easter States based receivers. The receivers used to send their carriers at Delhi and Haryana border. After confirmation of the delivery of the stolen vehicle they used to pay amount through bank.
PROFILES:
Sanjeev @ Sahil has been found involved in some cases of Motor cycle theft earlier. He was close associate of one notorious auto lifter Balbir and Gaj Raj resident of Faridabad .
RECOVERY:
1. One Esteem car;
2. One Wagon-R car stolen from Malviya Nagar;
3. One Santro car stolen from Malviya Nagar;
4. Grill machine and other equipments used in sealing the cars;
5. 500 grams Narcotic substance Charas.
Investigation is in progress. Efforts are being done to arrest the absconding associate Gaj Raj and receivers of stolen cars and to recover more stolen cars.

GANG OF AUTO LIFTERS INCLUDING THE RECEIVER NABBED : 8 CARS RECOVERED: 28 CASES OF CAR LIFTING SOLVED
INTRODUCTION
With the arrest of three persons namely I) Ankit Singhal, aged 27 years, ii) Deepak Garg, aged 22 years and 3) Mohd.Sulaiman, aged 28 years, the South Distt. Police has busted a gang of car thieves and recovered 2 Esteem cars, 5 Maruti Omni/Vans, 1 Maruti 800 car, number punching dye and master keys from their possession, which were being used for stealing the vehicles. With their arrest 28 cases of vehicle theft are solved.
INCIDENT, TEAM & INVESTIGATION:
In order to prevent the increasing incidents of car jacking and auto thefts in South Delhi and other parts of the city, a special team was constituted under the leadership of Inspr. Akhilesh Yadav, Addl. SHO/New Friends Colony consisting of SIRamesh Chand, ASI Megh aj, HCs Satender, Bhagirath Prasad, Cts. Mahipal, Deepak, Vinod and Babu Lal under the overall supervision of Sh. Bhisham Singh, ACP/Sarita Vihar. The team deployed sources and developed information that a gang of thieves from Dadri, Gautam Budh Nagar, U.P. is involved in stealing cars from the area of South Delhi and sold these stolen vehicles to Nasim Ali @ Munna and Suleman, the mechanics at Pilakhua, Ghaziabad, whose used to arrange the documents of total loss cars. The Engine & Chassis numbers of these vehicles, were thereafter engraved on stolen vehicles by etching out the original. The information was further developed and on the very specific information, the above team arrested two persons namely Ankit Singhal and Deepak Garg at Police picket Ashram Chowk on the night intervening 25/26 August, 2007 and an Esteem car stolen by the gang on the same night from the area of Jangpura Extension was recovered from their possession.
INTERROGATION & MODUS OPERANDI
On further interrogation they disclosed to have stolen various vehicles from the area of South Delhi . Both the above accused had earlier been arrested by the South District Police in the month of February for stealing the cars/vans fitted with CNG kits from the area of Lajpat Nagar, Chittaranjan Park and Hazrat Nizamuddin. After removing the CNG kit from the vehicle, they used to abandon the vehicle and used to sell the CNG kits to one Manoj, a mechanic having a workshop at Badarpur Border. At Central Jail, Tihar they met one Naseem Ali @ Munna, a receiver of stolen cars and a resident of village Kamalpur, Pilakhua. After their release on bail, they used to deliver the stolen vehicles at the workshop of Suleman at Dadri, an associate of Naseem Ali @ Munna. Till now they confessed to have sold approximately 30 stolen Maruti Esteem and 800 cc Cars/Vans to them at the rate of Rs.15,000/- and Rs.10,000/-respectively.
During investigation of case accused Mohd. Suleman was arrested on the instance of accused AnkitSinghal & Deepak Garg from the workshop at Pilakhua, Ghaziabd and his associate namely Nasim Ali @ Munna has been absconding from his arrest. Mohd. Suleman was earlier been arrested in the cases of car thefts of Loni, Sahibabad, Nand Nagari and Seelam Pur. Mohd. Suleman is expert to remove and engrave the engine and Chassis numbers on the stolen vehicles. Search of accused Nasim Ali @ Munna is continuing. Three Maruti Omni/Vans and 1 Maruti car has been recovered from the possession of Mohd. Suleiman at his
workshop situated at Pilakhua Market, Ghaziabad . After the verification of these vehicles it has been noticed that the engine and chassis numbers have been removed and new chassis and engine numbers have been very finally engraved.
RECOVERY:
1. Two Maruti Esteem cars,
2. Five Maruti Omni Vans,
3. One Maruti car.
4. Engine and Chassis number punching dyes,
5. Master keys.

INTRODUCTION
With the arrest of four persons namely I) Shah Akbar, aged 23 years S/o Mohd. Akhtar r/o Old Seelampur, Delhi, ii) Wasim, aged 30 years S/o Mushtak r/o Gokulpuri, Delhi, iii) Santosh Kumar, aged 24 years S/o Anand Kumar, r/o Dilshad Garden, Delhi and iv) Mohd Rasheed @ Mohd. Shamim, aged 25 years, s/o Mohd. Mushtaq r/o Gautam Puri, Delhi, the South Distt. Police has busted a gang of robbers and recovered 3 button actuated knives and 1 torch from their possession.
INCIDENT, TEAM & INVESTIGATION:
On 28.8.07 at about 8.10 p.m. a secret information was received at the Police Post Amar Colony under PS Lajpat Nagar that 4-5 robbers would assemble with weapons at about 8.40 p.m. at DDA Park, opposite D Block, East of Kailash, Delhi to plan of loot to a group of vegetables wholesalers, who use to go to Okhla Sabzi Mandi in the early hours with huge cash. Seeing the gravity of the information, a police team consisting of SI Pramod Gupta, I/C PP Amar Colony, SI Praveen Kuamr, HC Surender Kumar, Cts. Ved Singh, Samay Singh and Suresh led by Inspr. C.K. Sharma, SHO/Lajpat Nagar under overall supervision of Sh. Harish Joshi, ACP/Lajpat Nagar was constituted. All the above mentioned four accused were apprehended by the team, while one accused whose name later was known as Nadeem @ Teli S/o Kamruddin r/o Ghonda, Delhi managed to escape from the spot talking advantage of darkness. On their personal search 3 button actuated knives one each from Shah Akbar, Wasim and Mohd. Rasheed @ Mohd Shamim. 1 torch was recovered from the possession of Santosh. Accordingly, a case of preparation for loot and Arms Act was registered against them and they were arrested.
INTERROGATION & MODUS OPERANDI
During the course of interrogation it was revealed that Rasheed @ Mohd. Shamim is the gang leader of this gang, who is also found involved in 2 cases of Arms Act, one case of theft. He also disclosed that he was also involved in 3 incidents of snatching with Nadeem in the area of Lajpat Nagar. Shah Akbar is also found in some cases of theft and robbery. Wasim was previously arrested under preventive sections of Cr. P.C. Santosh Kumar is also found involved in a case of preparation of dacoity and one case of theft. They all hail from middle class families and to earn fast money they are indulged in crime. They further disclosed that they had planned to loot a group of vegetables wholesaler, who used to go Okhla Sabzi Mandi in the early hours with huge cash in their pockets. They had planned to loot them behind the ISKCON temple, Garhi, Lajpat Nagar.
RECOVERY:
1. Three button actuated knives.
