Title : TWO MEMBERS OF SOUTH INDIAN BAG LIFTERS’ GANG ARRESTED : 4 LAPTOPS RECOVERED

INTRODUCTION The South District Police has arrested two person namely i) Devendra, aged 22 years, S/o R. Mugham, and ii) Raghu, aged 22 years S/o Kaniglingam both residents of J.J. Colony, Madangir, Delhi. With their arrest the Police has solved more than 10 cases of bag lifting from busy market areas and also recovered 4 laptops (Acer, Toshiba, and 2 Compaq) and about 450 gms. Charas from their possession. INCIDENT & TEAM Keeping in view the rising trend of bag lifting cases in the busy markets in the area of South District, recently by breaking open the window pans of the parked vehicles. Several police teams including team of Special Staff, South District were directed to look into such incidents and nab the criminals involved in these incidents of bag lifting. A police team of Special Staff/South District consisting of SI Dalip Kumar, SI Balbir Man, ASI Paramjeet, HCs Rajesh, Premjeet, Vijay, Manoj and Raj Kumar, Cts. Ashok and Yashvir led by Inspr. Vijay Singh, I/C Special Staff under the overall supervision Sh. R.C. Saini, ACP/Ops., South District for the prevention and arrest of these criminals. The earlier activities of ‘South Indian groups’ involved in incidents of bag lifting were also examined during the process. Several sources were deployed to pin-down the gang and series of raids were conducted. In the meantime, the Special Staff of South District received secret information on 23.8.2007 that two members of bag lifters gang would visit in the area of Madangir and Khanpur to sell off stolen laptops. Acting on the information the police team of Special Staff conduct raids at the given points and apprehended one Devendra from Peepalwala Chowk, M.B. Road, Madangir, and Raghu was apprehended near Khanpur ‘T’ Point, Madangir by the police team. On their personal search the police team recovered 250 gms. Charas from the possession of Devendera and 200 gms of charas from the possession of Raghu through chance recover. The Police team also recovered 2 stolen laptops (1Toshiba and 1 Compaq) one each from their possession. INTERROGATION & PROFILE During the course of sustained interrogation, it is revealed out that they were involved in the incidents of bag lifting from the vehicles parked nearby busy markets like Lajpat Nagar, South Extension, Chittranjan Park, Greater Kailash etc. They further disclosed that they used to roam in the parking areas and choose their targets i.e. cars in which people leave their valuables or electronics items. They hit the windowpane with the help of stone and lift away the valuables/electronic items. They used to dispose off these stolen articles in the Gaffar Market, Karol Bagh. They also confessed their involvement in more then 10 such cases. On their further interrogation the police had also recovered 2 more laptops (Acer and Compaq) on their instances. During their interrogation they had also disclosed information about other members of the gang. Efforts are afoot to arrest them. More recoveries are likely to affect after their arrest. PROFILE Both the accused are permanent residents of J.J. Colony and originally hail from South India. They were also involved in a case of preparation of dacoity in 2006. They were also found arrested in similar 3 cases of bag lifting. All cases are pending trial in different courts in Delhi. Their other members of family are also found involved in cases of bag lifting. Even some time they use minor members of their families to commit such crime. RECOVERY 1. 450 gms. charas, 2. Title : PROSTITUTION RAKCET BUSTED : 4 CALL GIRLS ALONGWITH A PIMP ARRESTED

With the arrest of 2 call girls namely i) Mohini (name changed), aged 25 years r/o Pulpahlad Pur, ii) Anjali (name changed), Age, 35 years, r/o Tehkhand, Delhi and iii) Suman, aged 25 years, r/o Chirag Delhi, iv) Gunjan, aged 25 years r/o Molarband, Badarpur, Delhi and a pimp namely Saroj, aged 45 years r/o Meethapur, Badarpur, Delhi the South District Police has exposed a prostitution racket supplying girls for sexual pleasure to the customers on payment in the different areas of Delhi. INCIDENT & TEAM On 22.8.2007, a secret information was received in Police Station Badarpur that a prostitution racket, which is involved in supply of girls for sexual pleasure is active in the area of PS Badarpur. The informer also gave the mobile number of Pimp Saroj. Immediately, a raiding party consisting of SIs Mukesh, Heera Lal, Cts. Sanjay, Shailender, W/Ct. Soni led by Inspr. Ombir Singh, SHO/Badarpur was constituted under overall supervision of Sh. Bhisham Singh, ACP/Sarita Vihar and in association with the media persons. The SI Mukesh, a decoy customer and Ct. Sanjay, as shadow witness contacted the pimp Saroj on given mobile number and asked her to supply girls for sexual pleasure. SI Mukesh Kumar and Ct. Sanjay made a deal in Rs. 300/- each for two girls. The pimp Saroj agreed to provide two girls for sexual pleasure. The Pimp Saroj asked them to come on the main road of Meethapur at a specific site. SI Mukesh Kumar and Ct. Sanjay reached at the given point and met with pimp Saroj. As the deal was final and they paid Rs. 400/- as advance for two girls, she called 4 girls from the residential area of Badarpur and asked the decoy customers to choose two girls from them, of their choice. All the four call girls also instigated the decoy customer and shadow witness through indecent indications and promised to give maximum satisfaction/enjoyment. On the predetermined signal to the raiding party, awaiting at a distance, immediately came in action and apprehended all of them namely i) Mohini (name changed), aged 25 years r/o Pulpahlad Pur, ii) Anjali (name changed), Age, 35 years, r/o Tehkhand, Delhi and iii) Suman, aged 25 years, r/o Chirag Delhi, iv) Gunjan, aged 25 years r/o Molarband, Badarpurand also recovered four notes of Rs. 100/- from the possession of Saroj and apprehend her also. Accordingly they all were arrested under ITP Act. INTERROGATION During the sustained interrogation pimp Saroj revealed that she used to contact her customers on the mobile phone. After the deal got final, she called her customers at some specific point. She made deal with the customers and then called the girls, as per the choice of the customers. She further disclosed that she is in contact with many such girls from the area of Madangir, Badarpur, Khanpur etc. whom she used to call after making deal with the customers. All these girls are belongs to lower middle class and to earn their livelihood, they are involved in this immoral trafficking.

Title : HIGH TECH SATTA RACKET BUSTED

Special Staff East District has arrested a well known bookie of Faridabad and busted a high tech cricket satta racket which was being run from a flat in Lalita Park, Laxmi Nagar, East District during the Zimbabwe Vs. South Africa match on 22.8.07. The police team has arrested two persons namely:- 1. Nishikant Sharma @ Navin Sharma @ N.D. S/o Sh. Jagdish Sharma, R/o 2/19, Sayeed Bada, Old Faridabad (Haryana) who has several cases against him in Faridabad and is a B.C. of Faridabad. 2. Hemant Arora @ Sonu S/o Sh. Dharam Pal Arora, R/o 18/17/8, Old Govind Pura, Krishna Nagar, Delhi. INCIDENT On 22.8.07, secret information was received to ASI Sukhbir Singh of Spl. Staff, East District that some persons were accepting bets on Zimbabwe Vs. South Africa match at top floor of House No. 1/5, White House, Lalita Park, Laxmi Nagar, Delhi. On receipt of this information, a team was constituted under the supervision of Insp. Rajesh Kumar , Incharge Spl. Staff, East District comprising of SI Vinay Yadav and others. The team acted on this information with alacrity, raided the premises and apprehended above said two persons. They were engaged in attending telephone calls of their clients and maintaining the satta amounts on their pads. They were simultaneously watching the match on television and informing their clients accordingly. MODUS OPERANDI Nishikant Sharma @ Navin Sharma @ N.D. (One of the King Pins in satta racket of Faridabad) along with Hemant Arora @ Sonu was running Satta Racket with Hi-Tech gadgets. Due to several cases registered against him in Faridabad , Nishikant Sharma was operating from Delhi. He was giving line of cricket satta to more than a dozen bookies of Faridabad. They were receiving phone calls of the clients and were recording the conversation in their phones only. They used to keep their operations base changing frequently thus avoiding detection. They used mobile phones to operate Satta on cricket matches and used to record the conversation so that client cannot take benefit of doubt and back-out later on. Accordingly, they maintain data in their notepads. RECOVERIES 1. 14 Mobile Phones 2. One Samsung Colour Portable T.V. 3. Electronic Gadgets 4. Note Pads. A case vide FIR No. 625/07 U/s 3, 4, 5, 9 Gambling Act, 1955 has been registered at P.S. Shakar Pur in this regard.
