Title : HUGE HAUL OF PIRATED VCDs / DVDs AND MP-3 : ONE ARRESTED

With the arrest of Vinod Kumar aged 40 years S/O Late Shri Ramesh Chand R/O M-19, Gali No.30, Shahdat Pur Extension, Delhi who runs a Music Palace in the name of V.K. Telecom Centre in his house, North East District police has seized 1620 Pirated VCDs, 91 DVD, 355 MP3 (Total 2066 CDs), one Onida TV and one VCD player from his possession. TEAM & INCIDENT A team consisting of Inspr. Soji Ram Meena, SI Ram Kumar Tyagi, ASI Islamuddin, HC Kanta Parshad, HC Om Pal and HC Som Dutt was constituted under the close supervision of Shri M.L. Sharma, ACP/DIU, North East District. On 21.8.2007, an information was received that one person was indulging in selling pirated CDs/DVDs at his shop V.K. Telecom Centre (a Music Palace). M-19 Gali No.30, Shahdat Pur, Delhi in the jurisdiction of P.S. Khajoori Khas, Delhi. On this, a team consisting of above mentioned police officers and a raid was conducted at above shop. 1620 Pirated VCDs, 91 DVD, 355 MP3 (Total 2066 CDs), one Onida TV and one VCD Player were recovered from his shop. A case of Copy Right Act was registered at P.S. Khajoori Khas, Delhi and shop owner was arrested. INVESTIGATION During investigation, the identity of accused was revealed as Vinod Kumar who disclosed that he was running his shop of selling VCDs, DVDs. To earn quick money, he started the business of selling pirated VCDs/DVDs for the last one year. He used to purchase pirated CDs from Sunday Market behind Red Fort and from open market as there was scope of huge margin in selling pirated CDs against genuine one. Further investigation / interrogation is in progress. RECOVERY 1. 1620 Pirated VCDs, 91 DVD, 355 MP3 (Total 2066 CDs) 2. One Onida TV 3. One VCD Player PROFILE Vinod Kumar S/O Late Shri Ramesh Chand R/O M-19, Gali No.30, Shahdat Pur Extension, Delhi is 40 years old. He has studied upto 9th standard. He is married and have two children in the family. Earlier, he ran a General Store in his house but due to meager income, he closed this business and opened a Music Palace about one year ago.

Title : DACOITS PLANNING TO COMMIT DACOITY ARRESTED BY EAST DISTRICT POLICE

With the arrest of the following dacoits, East District police has evaded incident of dacoity in the area of Farsh Bazar, Delhi:- 1)Prem s/o Hari Ram 2)Ramesh Saini s/o Buddhan 3)Feroz Khan @Pappu s/o Saleem Khan 4) Mukesh @ Rinku s/o Ramesh Chand INCIDENT On 21.8.2007 S.I. Surender Rana alongwith Const. Kushal Pal 2009/E,Const Kender Pal, 1084/E, Const. Amrish, 1036/E, Const. Manoj, 2054/E and Const. Bijender, 1412/E of PS Farsh Bazar were on patrolling at 60 Foota Road, Karkari Road Crossing. During patrolling they got information that 5-6 criminals laced with weapons were gathered at Open DDA Plot near Nehru Gali Ganda Nala, Vishwas Nagar for planning a dacoity in the area. Police staff immediately informed SHO/Farsh Bazar who constituted a raiding party comprising of above mentioned police personnel under his close supervision. At about 8.20 P.M. the raiding team noticed three persons coming from Bhisham Road and two persons coming from Nehru Gali and entered in vacant DDA plot. The team members listened to their conversations which confirmed that they were planning to commit dacoity. The raiding team surrounded and apprehended four of them. Others managed to escape in dark. INTERROGATION During interrogation all the above accused disclosed that they were committed offence in case FIR No. 236/07 u/s 395/397 IPC in the area PS Farsh Bazar. RECOVERY a. Two iron rods, b. One country made loaded pistol and one live cartridge, c. One button actuated knife. A case vide FIR No.247/2007 dated 21.8.2007 u/s 399/402 IPC and 25/54/59 Arms Act has been registered at P.S. Title : DRIVER ARRESTED WITH STOLEN CASH RS. 24 LACS.

on 21.8.2007, Sh. Rajneesh Kumar S/o Sh. Mahendra Kumar, R/o H.No.177-D, Rishi Nagar, Rani Bagh, Delhi reported that he along with his driver Rakesh Kumar (aged 30-years) had come to Rohini Courts in the Car No. DL-4-C-AF-2510 for some court matter. He had an amount of approximately Rs.25 to Rs. 30 Lakh in the car in a black colour bag. He left the car and asked the driver to park the car and to wait for him. After half an hour, when he returned back from the court, he found the car parked near the wall of the court opposite Antariksh Apartment but the driver and the black bag containing cash was missing. He suspected that the driver Rakesh Kumar has fled away with the cash. On receipt of the information the Police of North-West District immediately swung into action. A case vide FIR No.605/07, dt. 21.8.2007, u/s 381-IPC was registered immediately at PS Prashant Vihar. Teams comprising of Inspr. Ram Mehar Singh, SHO/Prashant Vihar, SI Naresh Kumar, HCs Naresh, Ashok, Cts. Chander Bhan, Akhilesh & Ravinder, were constituted, under the supervision of Sh. N. Gnana Sambandhan, ACP/Rohini, Delhi. The accused driver belonged to Bhatinda (Punjab), so a Police team was immediately sent to Punjab and all the information about the accused person was immediately passed on to the Punjab Police and Haryana Police, especially the districts falling enroute. On this the Punjab Police (Patiala) also constituted a team under the supervision of Sh. Gurmeet Singh, S.P./Detective comprising of Sh. Jaskaran Singh, SHO/Sadar (Patiala), ASI Bhupinder Singh, ASI Karam Chand, HC Balwant Singh, HC Daljeet Singh and HC Surmukh Singh. At the checking points, the accused was ultimately apprehended near Patiala (Pb.) on the basis of description role transmitted to Patiala Police and Rs.24,05,000/- were recovered from the accused. The Patiala Police of PS Sadar has also registered a case vide FIR No.384/07, dt. 21.8.07, u/s 411-IPC and has apprehended the accused in the same. The accused is in police custody at Patiala and efforts are being made to bring the accused to Delhi and further interrogation in the matter. The case could be worked out without loss of time because of the excellent co-ordination between North-West, Delhi Police and Patiala Police. ACCUSED ARRESTED:- Rakesh Kumar (30-years) S/o Sh.
