Title : | RECEIVERS OF STOLEN VEHICLE ARRESTED: 03 VEHICLES RECOVERED |
INTRODUCTION:
With the arrest of two persons namely i) Bishan Kumar Gupta @ Lala, aged 32 years S/o Ram Bahadur Gupta R/o H. No. 8, Gali No.5, Bank Colony, Mandawali, Delhi. and (ii) Mohd. Shahid, aged 26 years S/o Fateh Mohd., R/o H.No 40 Purwa Fateh Nagar, Meerut,U.P.; the South District police has solved 5 cases of auto thefts and recovered 3 stolen vehicles including one TATA Safari, one Maruti car, and one Mahindara Bolero from their possession.
INCIDENT:
Following the analysis of auto thefts done in the area of South Delhi , it was learnt that a gang of auto lifters was desperately active in the area of Mehrauli, Malviya Nagar and Lajpat Nagar. Further study revealed that all types of vehicles were being targeted by this gang. In order to bust the gangs involved and to prevent the further auto lifting, the team of Anti Auto Theft Squad of South District was put on the task of busting this gang.
TEAM & INVESTIGATION:
The team of Anti Auto Theft Sqaud(AATS) consisting of SI Jeet Singh, ASI Om Prakash, HCs Vinod Kumar; Parmod Kumar,Abdul Hakim, Washiq Ahmed Consts.Subhash, Abdul Rehman,Shailender Singh,Satish Kumarand Anil Kumar under the leadership of Inspr.Naresh Kumar, I/c AATS under the supervision of Sh. Ramesh Chand Saini ACP/Ops geared up its resources and developed intelligence. They laid traps in a few affected areas and also started checking of suspected vehicles and persons on pickets. In one of such checking on 19-08-07 two persons occupying a Maruti car bearing No. UP 16C 1213 were stopped and checked at M.B. Road in front of Ambedkar Bus Terminal Dhaula Peer, P.S. Ambedkar Nagar area at about 7.10 PM . On Enquiry regarding the vehicle, it was revealed that the said Maruti car was stolen from Noida. They both were accordingly arrested with the possession of stolen car in case FIR No. 603/07 date 19-08-07 u/s 411 IPC P.S. Amedkar Nagar.
INTERROGATION:
On sustained interrogation it was disclosed by Sahid that he had been involved in cases of auto theft for last year and released from jail after three months. He was released from jail and again indulged in disposal of stolen vehicles along with his associate Bishan Kumar @ Lala. He further disclosed that he used to buy the ‘total lost vehicles’ in accident and damaged in fire. They used to sell the salvage to local kabaris in Meerut , U.P. and the documents were put on stolen vehicles by tempering their chassis Nos. and Engine Nos. They used to sell these vehicles in open market as genuine with original documents of damaged vehicles on big amount of benefit. They also used to call the auto-theives for stealing vehicles of specific make and colour. They had a good chain of auto lifters in South District. Bishan Kumar Gupta has his own workshop for sale and purchase and repairing of old Jeeps and he himself is an expert of tempering of Engine Nos. and Chasis Nos. He also used to dismantle the old stolen vehicles in his workshop. Sahid has his own Kabari shop in Meerut , U.P. The thieves identified as Vinod and Kallu are absconding and efforts are being made at large to apprehend them.
MODUS OPERANDI:
Bishan Kumar @Lala having liaison with the insurance companies about the damaged vehicles gutted by fire or badly damaged in accidents. He used to call Sahid, who also owns a Kabari shop in Meerut ,U.P. and both in partnership used to purchase the salvage and the documents from the company. The salvage was sold in local market and as per the documents the stolen vehicle; they used to call the auto lifters for stealing the vehicles of similar colour and make. They used to temper the chassis and engine number of the stolen vehicles with the fake number of total damaged vehicles and thereafter they used to sell the vehicle to the customers on handsome prices.
RECOVERY:
1. One stolen Mahindra Bolero.
2. One stolen TATA Safari
3. One stolen Maruti car.
Investigation is in progress. Efforts are being done to arrest the absconding thieves from whom they used to buy the stolen vehicles

Title : | GANG OF DACOITS HELD : PLANNING OF DACOITY IN A FACTORY AT OKHLA AVERTED |
With the arrest of five dacoits namely i) Bunty Prasad, aged 20 years, s/o Hari Ram, , ii) Bhim, aged 19 years, S/o Resham Pal, both r/o Sanjay Colony, Okhla Phase-II, Delhi iii) Asif @ Babu, aged 19 years S/o Mohd. Kadir, r/.o Tehkhand Extension, Delhi, and iv) Parvez, aged 22 years, S/o Irfan r/o Distt. Etta, U.P. and the South District Police has busted a gang of robbers and recovered 1 country made pistol with two live cartridges, 1 iron rod, 1 button actuated knife, 1 nylon rope and 1 packet of red chili power was recovered from them.
INCIDENT & TEAM
On 18.8.2007 at about 9.00 p.m. secret information was received at the Police Station Okhla that 4-5 robbers would assemble with deadly weapons at about 10.00 p.m. at Monkey Park, Okhla to plan a dacoity in a factory at A-250 Okhla Phase-I in the area of Okhla. Seeing the gravity of the information, a police team consisting of SI Vijay Kumar, HC Hori Lal, Cts. Sanwalia, Zakir Hussain, Arvind, Dharmdas, led by Inspr. B.P. Rana, SHO/Okhla under overall supervision of Sh. V.P. Singh, ACP/Kalkaji was constituted. All the four accused were apprehended by the team in the area of Chandanhola, Mehrauli, while one accused whose name was later known as Shakil, managed to escape from the spot taking advantage of darkness. On their personal search, 1 country made pistol with 2 live cartridge was recovered from the possession of Bunty, 1 botton actuated knife was recovered Bhim, 1 iron rod was recovered from Asif, nylon rope and red chili powder was recovered from the possession of Parvez. Accordingly, a case of Preparation for Dacoity and Arms Act was registered against them and they were arrested.
INTERROGATION & MODUS OPERANDI
During the course of sustained interrogation it was revealed that Bunty is the gang leader of this gang. He had information that there is huge quantity of bundles of valuable clothes and with his associates he planned to rob these bundles of clothes. Bunty and Bhim were found involved in 1 case of theft and 1 case of Arms Act. Asif is found involved in one case of Arms Act. Involvements of Parvez are being verified. They further disclosed that they used to rob the passersby during night at isolated roads on the point of pistol and knife and they also confessed their involvement in 5-6 such incidents in the area of Okhla and its adjoinings. This time they wanted to rob the bundles of valuable clothes to earn huge money.
RECOVERY
1. One country made pistol with 2 live cartridges.
2. One button actuated knife.
3. One iron rod, One red chili powder packet and one piece of nylon rope.

One boy name Amjad Khan S/o Sahjad Pahalwan R/o chini ki burj, Gangori Bazar, Jaipur, Hair colour Black, Colour Wheatish, Age then 9 years and now around 23-24 years is missing from Jaipur from 20/09/1992. Case no. 720/1992 u/s 363/365 IPC is registered in PS Kotwali, Jaipur, Rajasthan in this connection. Reward of Rs. 25,000 is declared on the information of missing boy by DGP Rajasthan.
